How the Calculation Works

Our estimator provides a reliable forecast by combining your inputs with standard usage averages. Here’s the formula at its core:

Total Sheets Available = Number of Rolls × Sheets per Roll

Sheets Used Per Day = People × Visits per Day × Sheets per Visit

We then divide the total sheets available by the sheets used per day to find out how long your supply will last. By default, we assume an average of 8 sheets per visit, but you can customize all other variables in the calculator for a more personal estimate.

Tips to Make Your Supply Last Longer

  • The “Fold, Don’t Wad” Method: Folding toilet paper instead of wadding it up creates a more effective surface area, often allowing you to use fewer sheets per wipe.
  • Check Your Roll’s Ply: 2-ply or 3-ply rolls are stronger and more absorbent than 1-ply, meaning you typically need less to get the job done. Factoring this into your purchase can extend your supply.
  • Consider a Bidet: A bidet attachment can drastically reduce toilet paper usage by over 75%. It’s an upfront investment that pays for itself in savings and improved hygiene.

Frequently Asked Questions

What about different roll sizes like ‘Mega’ or ‘Double’ rolls?

This is exactly why we included the “Advanced Settings.” A standard roll has about 150-200 sheets. A ‘Double Roll’ might have 300-400. Check your packaging for the “sheets per roll” count and enter it in the advanced settings for the most accurate result.

How accurate is this estimate?

It’s quite accurate if you provide precise inputs! The estimate is based on consistent mathematical calculations. However, it’s a model of typical behavior—usage can vary with guests, dietary changes, or sickness. Think of it as a strong baseline forecast.
